The Tornado COLTRI refrigerated dryer allows for a rapid return on acquisition costs by significantly extending the lifespan of filtration cartridges.

Optimization of Filtration Cartridge Lifespan

The cooling unit integrated into the Tornado refrigerated dryer removes most of the moisture from the compressed air, preventing it from reaching the HYPERFILTRE filtration system. This action significantly prolongs the filter cartridge's longevity, offering up to 5 times more autonomy.

It is recommended to exclusively use original COLTRI HYPERFILTRE filter cartridges to ensure compliance with the pollutant limit values of the breathable air standard EN 12021:2014.

Operating Principle

Moisture-laden air is routed from the compressor's final separator to the RF500 refrigerated dryer. At this stage, the heated air is still 100% saturated with water vapor and oil.

In the Tornado cooling unit, the compressed air temperature, and consequently its pressure dew point, is lowered to approximately between 3 °C and 5 °C. The cooled air can no longer retain the contained moisture, leading to the condensation of water vapor and oil.

The compressor's separator collects the condensates, thereby preventing them from reaching the HYPERFILTRE filter cartridge, which would otherwise become saturated much faster.

Automatic condensate purging allows the condensates to be discharged into the compressor unit's collection tank.

The cooled and dehumidified air is then routed from the Tornado refrigerated dryer to the HYPERFILTRE filtration system.
